“He who makes no effort to learn of the existence of Deity will, in this life, likely not learn there is a Deity. But his ignorance does not warrant him in declaring there is no God.” -- Joseph F. Merrill

"Afflicted without God" by Jim Long

If blind into the desert a feeling I must know,

Then I beseech You to call the nearest crow.

If into the forest I am to go and not hear,

Down the path I go, it isn’t sound I hold dear.

Through many afflictions man has survived,

Only without Your love do we feel deprived.

Of self I try no longer serve a lofty goal indeed,

Of the One above to this my prayer I plead.

In Your Love You granted me much,

But of You I am way out of touch.

Lord if life is beyond in another place,

Then lead me there and You I embrace.

Dear Father, I lack the qualities of eternity.

Part of You lives in me, I love Your Divinity.

Oh Father it is not of hurt that I call to You,

I want You to bring out in me the True.
