Jim Long's Writing's - Jim's Poetry

Within me there resides no majesty

Thinking at times my life a travesty

It isn’t hard to imagine, understand

The inflicted pain of words and hand

Do you too feel that it is of no hope

Do you like me with man’s evils cope

What extent are we suffering a part

We may ask all we encounter’s heart

A nobler thing to seek is a kind word

I’m hoping in future from me is heard

Manage not mad and instead a smile

A daily challenge and my patient’s trial

Will I succeed, not as often as I should

May I ask with this pursuit you would

Believe me it makes an enemy a friend

Even when at beginning I only pretend

It softens my heart quite a bit too

Try it in your life and see it is true

Suddenly strangers to me also kind

In my experiment that is what I find
