Jim Long's Writing's - Jim's Chrstian Writing's

You know I'm not even willing to make a judgment call on someone who has an abortion. I don't like the idea of killing an innocent, but there are too many variables. It might have been for the mother's life, it might have been for convenience, or God might have thought it was better for an innocent not to be born, than beat and abused, maybe molested, maybe later killed by the non-wanting mother...

In my concept of God, He knew that innocents would die, but He didn't stop it. Maybe the mother needed to go to Hell, so the child could be with God. As was reply to Einstein, I am not going to tell God what to do with His dice. Sorry not venturing there...

I am not willing to call a Native American a pagan, because I see no evidence. They did not bow down to an idol. They believed in a Holy Spirit, by different definitions different places. The communed with nature and didn't want for anything. They had no concept of "money" and sure a couple beads for land sounds good, they had no concept of land ownership. Doesn't sound pagan to me. I don't know that God has not revealed himself to you differently than me. I can't say the Tibetans aren't the Guardians to Paradise. I am not willing to judge anything that is not mine to judge, before the appointed hour.

I care not for someone’s belief’s and interpretations, I only care if someone pure is in danger, like my Christ. I don’t know what God had planned, because in my Christian Faith was stated by a Christian friend quite well, many things are filed in a folder titled, “TO be explained in Paradise, during Eternity.” I will not place a judgment on ANYTHING before I am given that right, by God.

Some of it stems back to the Nicene Council, some of it had already begun by the time Christ left. Constantine changed the Romans to Christianity purportedly because of a vision. But it is possible that he wanted the populist support. He never was Baptized, it was his wife who promoted most of the formation of a desire to further know Christ. The Nicene Council was formed to develop the Church’s position paper. They were more specifically formed to settle the question on Christ’s Being. The Gnostics said Christ was only God and not man and the rest said Christ was God and man. Sure they came to a decision, but in doing so they alienated an entire Sect. Should it have been done, maybe. But what it accomplished was they were lost and a “False Profit” benefited. I call Mohammed a “False Profit,” because of the preponderance of evidence and my own bias. Do I know for certain they are wrong and I am right, NO. There is an amazing similarity between the Holy Koran and the New Testament. When compared versus to versus they are similar. One teaches love and the other teaches hate (On different occasions).

Why was Thomas the one who doubted it was the Risen Christ, some believe it was an attempt to discredit his Gospel, but I wasn’t there. It was pretty obvious why the Gospel of Mary was not going to make the final cut into the Holy Bible. Some should have been left out, but that is because of my own bias. I cannot believe Christ appeared as a 50 foot walking and talking Cross, but I don’t know it didn’t happen. The foundation to “accept” the Nicene decision has often been attributed to the thought that they were aware of all Christian writings available and they made an informed decision based on majority view of Christianity. They put it all into a nutshell in the position paper we know as the Nicene Creed. The Church continued its bickering the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Holy Roman Church Popes would regularly Excommunicate the other.

Christ said to love one another, because as any observer can see it is far easier to win someone to your side when they are treated with love, rather than being told they are wrong. Christ could have been nasty on the Cross, but instead he chose to love His enemy. He told us to love our enemy. Christ didn’t say to love your neighbor that is like yourself, He told us to love our neighbor as ourselves. Christ said that we were to turn the other cheek and not to live by anger (The sword) We are all flawed and many times people hide under the veil of Grace, because they don’t want to change. They don’t want to follow Christ.

Maybe it is far easier for some to think others are wrong and I should tell them, but I reemphasize a non-Biblical point; when you point your finger at someone else three are pointing back at you. Many people stay clear of Christianity because of some need by some Christian’s to point out the “splinter” in their brothers eye, but that more often than not is replied to by pointing out many of Christians’ deficits. So what is accomplished but alienating a possible Christian. No one can be forced into belief. The Kings of many nations tried that and it failed. The numerous invasions under the heading of the crusades and the Church’s be Christian or die policy in the “New World” are prime examples. I don’t even want to think how hideous the inquisition’s were. God has continued to tell us what He wants and expects, but we keep eating the forbidden fruit so we can be Him. When everyone is ready to relinquish their fantasy that they occupy the Throne, God would like us get back to His Will being done.

I have far much to be worried about my own thoughts, actions and life than to worry how everyone else is failing to live up to my ideal.

Many were distraught with Christ’s message because it didn’t live up to what many, including Judas, thought it should be. They thought the Messiah would come and rescue them from their enemies, they couldn’t understand the greatest enemy they had was themselves. So Christ preached love and respect for authority. He didn’t think much authority remained in the Jewish Temple, it had been corrupt and meaningless. God told us in Isaiah that the “burnt offerings” didn’t please Him anymore. Because the “burnt offerings” were hollow and had no substance to them anymore. I think hiding in Grace and accusatory finger pointing is hollow and meaningless and doesn’t provide anything to God because He is well aware of our individual shortcomings. I think without a display of Faith, manly in love, some are giving empty “burnt offerings” to God and He is full of emptiness and it pleases Him no more.

Love, Jim
