"HE IS, I do Christianity." by Jim Long

I have kinda a strange, to some Christians and others, view of my relationship with the Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ. I call it, “He Is, I do.” There are two reasons I call it this:

1.) It is a marriage relationship with the Son.
2.) I just pray for how best I can serve Him, and He gives me tasks.

It is because of my Salvation that was there for the asking and the forgiveness that followed that I so willing give up control of my life. I not only turn my problems over to His control, but things I think are good, as well as, things I know are good. Try it, I assure you it works. Here are some of the rewards of “He Is, I do:”

True friendships and love…
Thanking Him, even though I don’t have any idea why something is happening….
Freedom from bondage of self (but of course I am still boastful)…
Full understanding of my prior sins, and blasphemies…
Wonderful knowledge that most people regardless of their beliefs have shaped my character!
I don’t ask for anything in prayer for myself, because funny thing is He already Knows!
Not worrying so much about how others behave…
Being free to give good parts and bad parts of my life to Him, letting Him handle everything good and bad His Way, and being able to share them with my family and friends…
And everyday “coincidences” happen that brighten my day or someone else’s…
I learn lessons from good and bad things and people now…
I find something good in everyone I meet, except some who are Born of Evil….
I find myself praying for people I don’t even like, and soon I become more tolerant of them….

Do you know how I know I speak truly about my weak faith is that He simply wrote the Way and the Truth on my heart. I just gave Him everything and I should have been prepared for something out of Ripley’s Believe it or Not, a twilight zone experience. It kind of tickles, day in and day out. The reason the community of Christ worked so well in the early Church as described by Luke in Acts, is when you get to this point of Faith, nothing else seems important any more, but following the two Great Commandments.

I have tried to show you what I mean by, “HE IS; I do.” I pray that someday you understand where I am coming from, because, “He is, I do.” is the best marriage and love and laws and feeling deep down inside of me, which mere words can’t explain. I love you for letting me share my simple faith with you... Love for eternity, Jim Smile
