"Begin by thanking Him for some little thing, and then go on, day by day, adding to your subjects of praise...until you see in everything some cause for thanksgiving." -- Priscilla Maurice |

Romans 7:14-20 American Standard Version (ASV) 14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I know not: for not what I would, that do I practise; but what I hate, that I do. 16 But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me, but to do that which is good is not. 19 For the good which I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I practise. 20 But if what I would not, that...

Wall Photos Ash Wednesday Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the Lent season. It is a time of repentance and fasting for 40 days in preparation for the resurrection of Jesus Christ. These ashes represent “Penance made sacramental by the blessing of the Church, and they help us develop a spirit of humility and sacrifice,” as reported by Catholic Online. Ashes are created from the palms used in last year’s Palm Sunday season and followers will receive the sign of the cross marked on their foreheads by their pastor. Here are five scriptures to ponder before Ash Wednesday, which was originally called dies cinerum or day of ashes, in honor of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. Daniel 9:3-4 So I gave my attention to the Lord God to seek Him by prayer and supplications, with fasting, sackcloth and ashes. I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed and said, “Alas, O Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and lovingkindness for those...

Breaking the 7,000 Year Hold On Creation This is my most controversial writing. I understand it really irritates most Christians that are of the Inerrant Word of God mindset. I’ve been called a Hypocrite, a Heretic and a Traitor by the words included here. You will come to the conclusion you will. ...

We Love Him, because He Loved us first. He Came down and walked among us, and Died; and was Buried and Resurrected. Why because God can bring Himself to Life and back to Himself? Would that make sense for God to Prove His Divinity for us? Did He Promise something and ask Something while He was here? He surely Died at the hands of man. He went to Hell to get a couple lost souls and He was Resurrected not for His or God’s own enjoyment, but as a Perfect Sacrifice for our Sins against Him. Just Believe that you are Forgiven and Follow Me was what He did and Asked. He asked you to Love. He didn’t ask you to make judgment ‘cause He thought Himself and God the Father quite Capable. Love was the Commandment. It wasn’t to think and act hostile towards non-believers, but He said the Sick need His Love most. What Good is to Love your fellow Church goers to Him? Are they not Good with...

I don’t know actually much more and I have been silent much too long. I need you tonight to pray for your Muslim (Islamic) brothers and sisters. Throughout their world governments are toppling, there are a number of nations that might like assistance in a governmental change. We hear of wars and rumors of wars, but life is being lost; freedom for those in even the countries that won freedom during the Arab Spring are continually to have issues. They are not unlike the newly forming United States in the late 18th century. We, as individuals, can’t really do anything but in our hearts, not just in words, offer our hand in friendship. We can’t stop dictators from killing their own; we can’t stop the violence that engulfs the Islamic World from Africa to the Near East. But we are able to do one thing as is most prominently found by Christ’s Words to Love one another. In case you missed the fact that Christ presented more than once as a New Commandment as the Second of...

Shrove Tuesday (February 21, 2012) Lesson (A Day and reflect to Cleanse our Soul): 1 John 1 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts: the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. It's a day of penitence, to clean the soul, and a day of celebration as the last chance to feast before Lent begins. When a person receives absolution for their sins, they are forgiven for them and released from the guilt and pain that they have caused them. It is a day of celebration as well as penitence, because it's the last day before Lent. During Lent there are many foods that some Christians - historically and today - would not eat: foods such as meat and fish, fats, eggs, and milky foods. So that no food was wasted, families would have a feast on the shriving Tuesday, and eat all the foods that wouldn't last the forty days of Lent without going off. We are to abstain from something we cherish during Lent and I state most of us need to Give up Hate more than Anything. Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name...

Wall Photos 1 Corinthians 13:13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 Peter 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart, Romans 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Ephesians 4:1-3 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond...

Sunday, February 19, 2012 – “Transfiguration Sunday” Today’s Lesson - Matthew 17 1 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into a high mountain apart: 2 and he was transfigured before them; and his face did shine as the sun, and his garments became white as the light. 3 And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. 4 And Peter answered, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, I will make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah. 5 While he was yet speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold, a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. 6 And...

“Dear Heavenly Father my enemies surround me.” God, “Yes I helped David with that. I told you; do you remember?” “Dear Heavenly Father my illness sicken and dishearten me so others cast me aside. God, “Yes, My child. I'm here holding your hand as I have so many others.” “Dear Heavenly Father why do You forsake me.” God, “Geez you want to get off the Pity Train, 'cause there are some people that need real help and I was counting on you!” “Dear Heavenly Father I need…” God, “Ok I need some things too. I need you to know I'm here and I love you! I want you near Me! Can I ask you to not Worry and Trust in Me? I want you to Love your neighbor and be respectful of yourself and others?” (Note: This is the revised and corrected version.)

1 Corinthians 15 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 it is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.
